In early 2005 I was asked to design something special for a highly decorated Retired New York City Firefighter. This knife set was done for him and his family as a memorial to his two sons who both died on September 11, 2001 in the line of duty protecting the citizens of the city of New York. In August of 2005 I was honored to be present at the presentation ceremony. This man is an impressive, and inspirational figure among the FDNY, and NYPD heroes. After meeting him, it was of no surprise to hear of the heroism of his two sons.
