Frank Eaton Custom Knives - About Me

My name is Frank Eaton, born in Farmington, Missouri in 1969. I have always been fond of the outdoors, which led me to begin a career in the US Army Reserves in 1986. In 1989, I joined active duty as an infantryman.

I did a 4 yr tour in the 25th Infantry Division from 1989-1993. I then went to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment, I served in various positions within the Regiment from 1993-2003. I then went to be a Military Free Fall Instructor in Yuma, AZ until 2006. I now work in the Washington DC area.

In 2003, I began my education in making hand made knives studying under a fellow instructor and Ranger buddy. I continued to exercise my skills, read, and try new techniques.

To date I have made well over 200 knives, and still very much enjoy doing it as a hobby. I like working with both high carbon and stainless steels. I enjoy making various styles of knives both full, and hidden tang. I have made custom daggers, bowies, hunters, skinners, as well as hand made Tactical Knives.

It is very relaxing, and satisfying creating something new. I have also been forging blades for about 3 years, although  I haven’t even scratched the surface in that discipline. I have forged just over 10 blades, this is an extremely rewarding way to make a knife; I hope to do much more of it after military retirement.

I think that the fit and finish on a custom knife is very important, and I take this very seriously. I ensure that all my grinds are precise, and everything is right before a knife ever leaves my shop.

If you would like to make an order, or discuss a design that you may want, just email me we can go from there. I have approximately a 2/3 month waiting list for custom work, I generally have tactical knives on hand.

All my knives have a lifetime guarantee against workmanship with normal use.
